A Venezuelan professional soccer player for the English club West Bromwich Albion and for the Venezuelan national team, Rondón won the 2015 national championship with FC Zenit, in the Russian Premier League, and has represented Venezuela in three Copa América tournaments. In a 2016 interview with The Guardian , Rondón spoke of fearing for his family, who live in Caracas, and not wanting anyone to know who his wife and children are, for their own safety (kidnappings are common in Caracas, due to the crisis in Venezuela).
