An American singer, songwriter, and actress whose father, Patrick, was from a family of Mexican descent that had been living in New Mexico for generations, Lovato began her career on Barney & Friends as a child. She then appeared in Disney Channel's Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2 before beginning her singing career. She has six studio albums - Don't Forget (2008), Here We Go Again (2009), Unbroken (2011), Demi (2013), Confident (2015), and Tell Me You Love Me (2017). She is a Grammy-nominated multi-platinum singer as well as a businesswoman and activist. In 2016 she received GLAAD's Vanguard Award for her work raising awareness around LGBT issues. She has also been honored for her work bringing awareness to mental health. Lovato has openly struggled with bipolar disorder, addiction, self-harm, and an eating disorder.
